Supporting Growth at Clean N Bright
At Clean N Bright, we're passionate about helping our team grow by allowing them to learn new skills and further develop the ones they already have.
Ioana, who started as an office cleaner, has since been allowed to take on a variety of roles within our Operations team. Our "Ops" team tackle jobs such as builder's cleans, Sparkle Cleans, hoarder cleans, biohazard cleaning, and much more. These tasks require further training and the utilisation of skills that Ioana already has through Office Cleaning.
"As a woman in this field, I stand out. Most of my coworkers are men, and at first, there were doubts about whether I could handle the physical side of the job, such as carrying heavy equipment and moving bags of waste, which can be contaminated. But strength isn't just about muscle. I've learned to pace myself, to work smart, and to endure the long hours inside hot protective suits where every breath feels recycled. Being a female cleaner in the operations team work has made me tougher, but also more compassionate. I've learned that what I bring to this job isn't just my ability to scrub and sanitise, it's the quiet strength to face things most people would turn away from, and the care to handle them with dignity. It isn't glamorous. The smell sticks with you long after the shift is over, and no matter how many layers of gloves you wear, you always feel like something has seeped through. But there's also a strange pride in knowing that I do something necessary. When we leave a site clean and safe, I know I've helped people. If it's a Biohazard clean we've done, we've helped people even more so, in one of the worst moments of their lives"
We are passionate about our staff taking steps up the career ladder, and in Ioana's case, also breaking the gender barrier and taking on roles that are typically male-dominated. We have been able to support Ioana to become more confident in herself, and she has learnt some excellent life skills through the work she has done with our ops team.
