Decontamination Cleaning Services

Decontamination & Infection Control Cleaning

Clean N Bright are CHAS-accredited decontamination and infection control cleaners working with the healthcare, care, education, hospitality and housing industries across South Yorkshire. We work both on a planned, scheduled basis and on rapid outbreak and incident response, using fogging and electrostatic disinfection and validated cleaning methods.

Whether you need scheduled infection control as a managed service, a fast response to an outbreak, or a one-off decontamination after an incident, we can help. Tell us the setting and the situation, and we will recommend the right approach.

If you're a decision-maker in the healthcare, care, education or facilities management sectors please contact us about our scheduled infection control contracts, and request our vendor pack.

Three ways we work

  • Scheduled Infection Control

For settings where infection control is an ongoing requirement, we provide planned, recurring decontamination as a managed service. This suits care homes, healthcare premises, schools, nurseries and food businesses, where regular disinfection of high-touch surfaces and shared spaces is part of staying compliant and protecting people.

    Scheduled Infection Control

  • Outbreak Response

When an outbreak occurs, norovirus, C. difficile, flu, or another infectious illness, the priority is to break the chain of transmission quickly. We respond rapidly with terminal cleaning and fog or electrostatic disinfection of the affected areas, and provide the documentation your outbreak records require.

    Outbreak Response

  • Incident Decontamination

After a specific incident, a contamination event, a property left in poor condition, or a situation involving bodily fluids, we carry out a one-off decontamination to return the space to safe use. For reactive biohazard incidents specifically, see also our Biohazard Cleaning page.

    Incident Decontamination

What our decontamination service includes

  • Assessment and plan. We assess the setting, the contamination or infection risk, and the use of the space, and set out the method, the products, and any access or downtime needed.
  • Surface cleaning and disinfection. Thorough cleaning and disinfection of surfaces and high-touch points using disinfectants matched to the pathogen or contamination type.
  • Fogging and electrostatic disinfection. ULV fogging and electrostatic spraying to treat whole rooms and reach surfaces that manual cleaning alone cannot, including the undersides and edges of fixtures and furniture.
  • Odour treatment. Where the contamination has left an odour, ozone or hydroxyl treatment to neutralise it at source.
  • Bodily fluid and biohazard clean-up. Safe removal and decontamination where blood, vomit, or other bodily fluids are present, by trained operatives using appropriate equipment and protection.
  • ATP surface validation. Where required, post-clean ATP swab testing to confirm and evidence that surfaces have been effectively decontaminated.
  • Licensed waste disposal. Safe disposal of any clinical or hazardous waste through an Environment Agency licensed route.
  • Documentation pack. See the documentation section below.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between decontamination cleaning and a normal clean?

A normal clean removes visible dirt. Decontamination cleaning is about removing or killing pathogens and contaminants, using disinfectants matched to the specific risk and methods such as fogging and electrostatic spraying that reach surfaces manual cleaning cannot. Where required, we validate the result with ATP swab testing rather than relying on appearance alone.

How quickly can you respond to an outbreak?

We respond rapidly to outbreak and incident calls across South Yorkshire. Call with the setting and the situation and we will confirm a realistic response time on the call. For account clients, we can agree a contractual response SLA in writing.

What is fogging, and is it safe?

Fogging, or ULV fogging, disperses a fine disinfectant mist that settles across all surfaces in a room, including those that are hard to reach by hand. It is a well-established method when carried out by trained operatives. The treated area needs to be vacated during treatment and for a short period afterwards, and we will tell you exactly how long for your setting.

Do you provide documentation for CQC and environmental health?

Yes. Our documentation pack includes a method statement, a record of the work, a certificate of decontamination, ATP validation results where carried out, and where relevant an outbreak or incident report in the format CQC, environmental health and UKHSA records require.

Can you carry out scheduled infection control as a contract?

Yes. For care homes, healthcare premises, schools, nurseries and food businesses, we provide planned, recurring decontamination on contract terms, with an agreed schedule, a single point of contact, and documentation after each visit.

What disinfectants do you use?

We use professional disinfectants matched to the pathogen or contamination type.

Do you still carry out COVID decontamination?

Yes. COVID is now one of several respiratory infections we deal with as part of routine infection control and outbreak response, rather than a separate emergency service. The same methods - fog and electrostatic disinfection and validated surface cleaning - apply.

Can you work as a sub-contractor under our FM contract?

Yes. We work as a specialist decontamination and infection control sub-contractor to FM firms, operating to client SLAs, reporting templates and invoicing requirements.

    Group Safety Compliance Manager

“A huge thanks to Clean N Bright who carried out a large scale clean of our stands at Doncaster Racecourse. Not only did they carry out the work at short notice, but they did so efficiently and with professionalism. When I needed assistance with other areas of work, they rose to the challenge.”

  • Toni Fenning

“Clean N Bright is an amazing company. We worked with them over the summer to clean our entire auditorium, which is a feat in itself, at 620 seats. The team were absolutely incredible, they went above and beyond. It’s really great to work with a local company that cares so much about the Arts Theatre and just everybody in general.”
